Purpose

ArrossiLab is a community of practice and reflection.

We are an interdisciplinary team of professionals with diverse backgrounds and training in public policy, social research, health, education, statistics, systems engineering, and communications.

We believe that scientific knowledge should address issues affecting people’s health and the functioning of health services.

We develop research based on the needs and challenges of various stakeholders and sectors to create an effective impact on public policies, health practices, and social determinants of health.

Dr. Silvina Arrossi

Senior Researcher at CONICET and Senior Researcher at CEDES.

Dr. Silvina Arrossi is a sociologist, Docteur en Demographie (Université de Lyon) and Msc. in Public Health in Developing Countries (London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine). She is a senior researcher at CONICET and an associate researcher in the Health, Economy and Society Area of the Center for the Study of State and Society (CEDES). She is a consultant for the World Health Organization (WHO). Between 2008 and 2018 she was the Scientific Coordinator of the National Cervical Cancer Prevention Program.

She directs and coordinates different research projects at national and international level. She directs and evaluates postgraduate theses. She has numerous publications in international and national scientific journals.

Dr. Rosa Laudi

Expert consultant.

Medical Doctor by the National University of Rosario. Specialist in Pathological Anatomy – Cytopathology. Resident and Chief Resident at the Hospital General de Agudos “José M. Ramos Mejía” CABA, between 1976-1980. Staff Pathologist at the Municipal Hospital of Vicente López Dr. Bernardo Houssay, between 1980-1985. Staff Cytopathologist at the José M. Ramos Mejía Hospital between 1985-1994. Executive Coordinator of the National Cervical-Uterine Cancer Prevention Program INC/MSAL between 2008/2018.

Professor of Undergraduate and Postgraduate. She participates in National Scientific Societies and in the Latin American Region with different functions and types of membership. She has received numerous awards for different types of innovative practices performed in the Pathology Laboratory and in Gynecology services. She participates in national and international scientific events and publishes in national and international scientific journals on topics related to public management and cervical cancer prevention.

Dr. Melisa Paolino

Assistant Researcher at CONICET and Associate Researcher at CEDES.

B.A. in Sociology (University of Buenos Aires-UBA). D. in Social Sciences (UBA), specialized in Public Health. She is an Assistant Researcher at CONICET and Associate Researcher at CEDES. She was a CONICET doctoral fellow. She is a graduate of the Interdisciplinary Residency in Health Education in the City of Buenos Aires. Former Consultant of the National Cervical Cancer Prevention Program (2008-2017).

She participated in projects related to the organization of cervical and breast cancer prevention programs and the implementation of HPV testing in Argentina. She has specialized in the analysis of the social determinants of adherence to diagnosis and treatment of HPV+ women and precancerous lesions. She participates as co-investigator in projects in the field of implementation sciences, especially in the evaluation of the effectiveness and implementation of Digital Health strategies to improve access to prevention and control of cervical cancer (ATICA Project) and breast cancer; and in the analysis of the fidelity of the implementation of the HPV test self-testing strategy. She has several publications in national and international scientific journals.

Dr. Victoria Sánchez Antelo

Assistant Researcher at CONICET and Adjunct Researcher at CEDES.

B.A. in Sociology, University of Buenos Aires (UBA), Argentina. European Master in Employment and Social Policy, Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona (Spain). PhD in Social Sciences, UBA. She was a doctoral and postdoctoral fellow of CONICET (2010-2017). She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses at UBA and Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero (UNTREF). She obtained the certification of expert in user research (UX research), oriented to the design of websites and mobile applications by the National Technological University (UTN).

She directed research projects in the field of public health policies from a gender perspective in Spain and Argentina.

At CEDES, she participates in projects in the field of science for the implementation of Digital Health strategies to improve access to prevention and control of cervical cancer (ATICA Project; ASCO Project) and breast cancer; in the analysis of the fidelity of the implementation of the HPV self-testing strategy; evaluation of the acceptability of HPV self-testing in indigenous population; and in the analysis of the feasibility of a cancer prevention code for Latin America and the Caribbean. She directs and evaluates graduate and postgraduate theses. She has several publications in national and international scientific journals.

Paula Frejdkes

Research assistant at CEDES.

B.A. in Philosophy, University of Buenos Aires (UBA), Argentina. Fellow of the National Cancer Institute (Cancer Research – Ed. 2022).

Since 2019, she has been working in the area of Health, Economy and Society at CEDES where she participates as an assistant in various projects on women’s health and cervical cancer prevention. Previously, she worked in the private area focused on teaching techniques of self-knowledge and body sensory perception.

Eng. Leonardo Ghigliani

Lawyer, Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA), Argentina.
Specialization in Telecommunications Law (UBA), Argentina.
Specialization in Information Technology Law (Universidad Austral), Argentina. Master in Information Technology (UAI), Argentina.

He teaches undergraduate courses at the Universidad Abierta Interamericana. He works in the private sector directing his consulting services company in information technology and systems development. He is an advisor in information and legal technologies at the Direction of Transfusion Medicine, National Ministry of Health.

Dr. Cecilia Straw

External researcher at CEDES.

B.A. in Political Science (UBA). Master in International Relations (University of Bologna, Italy). External researcher in the Area of Health, Economy and Society at the Center for the Study of State and Society (CEDES). She specializes in qualitative research on breast, colon and lung cancer, navigation of breast cancer patients, medically assisted human reproduction, HIV and vertical transmission and tuberculosis from a social perspective and with an approach oriented to the design of public policies and their implementation.

She is a professional consultant for Argentine and international public and private institutions. She teaches Political Science and Communication Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires. She has published her doctoral thesis and research results on perceptions, opinions, acceptability, barriers and facilitators in Argentine and foreign scientific journals.

Anabella Le Pera

Doctoral fellow at CEDES.

Degree in Sociology (UBA). PhD in Social Sciences (UBA), in progress. Scholarship holder for the completion of her PhD (CONICET). Former FONCyT initial fellow. Since 2018, she works in the area of Health, Economy and Society at CEDES where she participates in various projects on women’s health, cervical cancer prevention, among others. Currently, she is focused on her PhD thesis on the adherence of women with HPV+ self-testing to the triage, diagnosis and treatment process in Jujuy between 2015-2016, from the perspective of social determinants of health and the right to health.

Pilar Barcena Barbeira

Doctoral fellow at CEDES.

Specialist in Epidemiology by the National Ministry of Health. Doctorate in Medical Sciences (UBA), in progress.

Since 2023, she has been working in the area of Health, Economy and Society at CEDES where she participates in several projects on cervical cancer prevention, focusing on health information systems and epidemiological data analysis.
